Inter Parfums is active in the perfume and cosmetics business and specializes mainly in prestige perfumes.

Created in 1982 by Philippe Benacin and Jean Madar, Inter Parfums began by developing mass-market perfumes with the creation and distribution of moderately priced eaux de toilette before shifting its strategic focus in the early 1990s to selective perfumes.

In 1993, the company signed a licensing agreement to produce perfumes under the British brand name Burberry, the first step in its strategy of creating a portfolio of international perfume and cosmetics brands in the high-end, ready-to-wear, and high fashion and accessories sectors

In 1995, the initial public offering on the Second Marché of the Paris Stock Exchange provided the company resources to finance its expansion that was followed by series of fragrance license agreements:

Burberry

In July 1993, the Inter Parfums Company closed an exclusive licensing agreement
with the Burberry Ltd Company, covering the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of fragrances under the Burberry brand over a 10 year period. In February 2000, the parties chose to lengthen the duration by another three years. The termination date became
December 31st 2006.

In October 2004, the Inter Parfums Company and the Burberry’s Company entered into a new licensing agreement applicable as from July 1st 2004 for a 12 year and six month period.
The agreement provides that an additional five year period may be opted for by the parties under the same terms. The agreement also provides that, on December 31st 2009 or on December
31st 2011, Burberry may choose to buy back from Inter Parfums the licensing rights at arm’s length price.

S.T. Dupont

In July 1997, the Inter Parfums Company and the S.T Dupont Company entered into an exclusive licensing agreement covering the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of fragrances for a 11 year period.

In April 2006, the agreement was lengthened by another 3 years. It will be applicable up until June 30eth 2011.

Paul Smith

In December 1998, the Inter Parfums Company and the Paul Smith Company entered into an exclusive licensing agreement covering the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of fragrances and cosmetics for a 12 year period.

Lanvin

In June 2004, the Inter Parfums Company and the Lanvin Company entered into an exclusive licensing agreement applicable as from July 1st 2004, covering the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of fragrances for a 15 year period.

The Lanvin Company holds a buy back option for the brands, which will be exercisable on July 1st 2025.

Inter Parfums SA and Lanvin have mutually agreed to terminate the existing licensing contract signed in June 2004 as from the date of the sale and have entered a technical and creative assistance agreement in view of developing new perfumes in return for payment based upon net sales. This agreement will stand until June 30th 2019.

Van Cleef & Arpels

In March 2006, the Inter Parfums Group of Companies and the Van Cleef & Arpels Group of Companies entered into an exclusive licensing agreement covering the manufacturing and distribution of fragrances, and derived products under the Van Cleef & Arpels brand
for a 12 year period, starting on January 1st 2007.

Jimmy Choo

In October 2009, Jimmy Choo and Inter Parfums SA have signed a 12-year worldwide licence agreement commencing on January 1st 2010 for the creation, development and distribution of fragrances under the Jimmy Choo brand.
